Many patients aren’t sure if they’re experiencing a dental emergency, but the term can mean different things to different people. At Evolve Dentistry, any issue that requires immediate medical attention to resolve counts as a dental emergency. Broken or knocked out teeth, swollen areas of the jaw, bleeding or pain that doesn’t go away, or dental appliances like crowns that have fallen out can all be emergencies.
In some cases, if you’re not sure if you’re having an actual emergency, it’s possible that your issue is one that can wait for a regular dental visit. Try to think about if you truly need immediate dental care. And if you need to, you can always call us if you have questions and we’ll provide guidance as best we can.
Note that major injuries that are traumatic or life-threatening are beyond the scope of our care. In these instances, you should go directly to an emergency room or hospital for the best care.
